According to a study at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, the relationship between dogs and their owners bears striking similarities with the one between children and their parents. Both kids and dogs share what is called the "secure base effect" which places parents and owners as the "secure base" with their little ones. Also, the presence of a parent or owner boosts confidence and interactivity in kids AND dogs. It all adds up to dogs being our good little babies!
